FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Blackhills CSA?
Blackhills CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a community-led veg-growing project on the Gower, near Swansea. We grow seasonal, chemical-free produce using regenerative methods and provide seasonal fresh veg boxes to local homes. We also run workshops and volunteer sessions to help people connect with the land and learn new skills.
What does “regenerative growing” mean?
Regenerative agriculture goes beyond sustainability- it actively improves soil health and biodiversity. We use no-dig methods, make our own compost and bio-fertilisers and grow heritage, non-hybrid seeds with companion planting to support nature.
How does your veg box subscription work?
We offer a weekly delivery of fresh, seasonal produce grown at our site and from other local growers. You can subscribe via our Ooooby page and choose from three payment tiers, based on your income.
What’s the tiered pricing system?
We use Ooooby’s fair-share payment model. You choose a price that fits your budget—no judgement. Higher-tier payments help subsidise boxes for people on lower incomes.
Is the produce organic?
We’re not certified organic, but we grow using organic principles and regenerative techniques—no chemicals, just healthy soil and natural inputs.
Where are you based?
We're just outside Swansea on the Gower, opposite Swansea Airport. Directions and map are available on our contact page.
Can I volunteer with you?
Yes! We welcome volunteers of all abilities. You can help with growing, harvesting, maintaining wildlife areas, or even supporting events. It’s a great way to meet people and learn new skills.
Can schools or groups visit the site?
Absolutely. We host school groups, community organisations, and private bookings. Get in touch to arrange a visit or tailored session.
How can I get in touch?
You can email us, use the contact form on the site, or message us on social media. We’d love to hear from you!
